Introduction

This section presents data on economic activity at the regional level.

Regional GDP

Similarly to national figures, Regional GDP measures the total market value of all final goods and services produced during a specific time period in a specific region. The next graph presents the evolution of regional GDP in current prices.

The next graph presents the evolution of GDP per capita in each region.

Investment by region

Fixed investment (gross fixed capital formation) is recorded at the regional level similar to the methodology for the national figures. The next graph presents the evolution of investment at current prices in each region.

Gross value added by region and sector

Each region's GDP can be measured with the production approach. The next graph decomposes each region's Gross Value Added (GVA) in the various sectors of economic activity. GDP is equal to GVA plus taxes minus subsidies to production.

The next graph decomposes each economic sector's Gross Value Added to Greece's regions.
