This section presents data about the structure of enterprises and the characteristics of important economic sectors.

Enterprises

Enterprises are responsible for most economic activity in modern economies and, so, describing their characteristics is important for understanding the structure of the Greek economy.  

For example, how many enterprises produce in Greece, how big are they and in which sectors do they operate? Further questions of interest include how many enterprises start or cease operating over time and how fast do they grow?


Sectors of economic activity

Each country specializes in different sectors of economic activity. This section presents data that specific to the more important sectors of the Greek economy. The sectors include agriculture, shipping and tourism.
